New York, 8 June 2023 - The UNDP Ocean Innovation Challenge presents the third cohort of four ocean innovators. These innovations will demonstrate compelling innovative approaches on the role of marine spatial planning, marine protected areas and new economic activities that are environmentally and socially sustainable for healthy and resilient ocean. 

Following the success from the first two cohort of ocean innovation challenges addressing marine pollution and sustainable fisheries, UNDP launched this third cohort of the Ocean Innovation Challenge that aims to accelerate progress on SDG Target 14.2, 14.5 and 14.7: marine protected areas, area-based management and the blue economy.
